Business with hard people.

So yesterday this courier guy called me and he was wiling to deliver the package only to me and not willing to climb to second floor may be because he had some heavy package.

He was extremely aggrasive, his tone was rude, and he was in state of only self service. He had zero regard of my comfort. Even though he was serving me. He was only willing to complete his duty.

He constantly keep shouting until I gave up. His aggression was making me heady. It was a loose-win. And i was on the loosing end.

He clearly was extremely frustated in that job. He seems to really didn’t want to do it but he had to do it. His treatment wasn’t personal to me it was same with everybody. Thats what happens when you don’t choose your life. And hopelessly rebel against circumstances.

I had no direct business with this person. He was employee of blue dart. He had no direct incentive or threat from me.

I could have tell with him to lower his voice and if he refuses stop the business there. Cancel the order. File a complain. And move on.

I could have listen to him. What he was trying to convey I will not come to second floor because of bag. I will not give to anyone other than you and I am in hurry. And than keep repeating what you will accept. And your preferences and wants. I will really appricate if you can deliver to second floor. If you can’t let me send someone downstairs. If you can’t deliver to someone other than me. Than don’t. Although there are people who have delivered to reception before. But I will call blue dart and tell them. And repeat it like a broken record.

Although There are two not so good responses. 0. Become aggressive and start threatening him. Fighting him. 1. Loose-win. Just because he is throwing a lot of tantrum. Saying do whatever you want.

So the best solution seems to me is not fight, or withdraw but to friendly calm them down, let them know with the smile on your face you would appricate the calm conversation. Let them know you can’t talk if they are abusive. Tell them why are you shouting. Repeat what they are saying. And tell them your preferences like a broken record. Acknowledge it is possible that you will not get the fair treatment or win-win. And sometime business will be off and services you want will not be rendered. That’s how things are.

What I should do now is check with blue dart, how will i get my shipment delivered today and what time.
