freedom

freedom seems like the most undervalued asset these days. everyone seems to running for that awesome feeling ( passion/ success/ become huge/ whatever). even a lot of people seems to be scared of freedom. because at some level it require self knowledge ( stepping into unknown ) and ownership. and that scared the shit out of people better option keep running at least it gives the sense of progress. doesn’t matter how false it is.

after clarity the second most important thing seems like freedom. breaking down freedom

financial freedom

this is the real beast. almost everyone i know around my direct contact seems to be stuck into it. this is how they control us. seems like every major decision for me has been taken by someone else ( gatekeepers ). and the worst part is that someone else really doesn’t care about me. but things are changing and gatekeepers are loosing their power at internet age. it is very much possible to decide not to work 8 hours a day on random shit but 2-3 hour a day on selected project ( and i am really fine with earning less even though it is not the case ). and this is possible reasoning behind why I spent last 4 months on building my freelance consulting profile.

social and phycological freedom

this is another issue specially in indian culture. the most generous bargaining I heard from one of the conversation.

“my parents told me to try whatever i want to do for next 6 month to 1 year and nothing tangible comes out of it than I will have to work in that and that company for rest of my life without questioning”. it might sound stupid

i really like seth godin thoughts on it ( may be the context was different it does apply here ).

it is like saying if i succeeded i get to keep the credit for it, and if I loose you will be blamed for it. it sounds funny and it has more to do with not having enough confidence in oneself

i agreed on the possibility of more conducive social environment. but to be honest it’s not that bad either. it is very much possible to do whatever I want and I’m not really living in hostile situation and religious enforcement age. in the correct frame of mindset it is really a blessed time and culture to live in. specially if you are in india you get to be the part of a great nation in making.
