PRE most organic method of effective communication.

In last 8 week I learnt so much here. What I found most appealing about toastmasters that it is not teaching us some tricks and techniques. But It was bringing our awareness to different aspect of communication. And giving us precise and detailed information of each of them. And among all of them my personal favourate was PRE.

Ladies and gentlemen, toastmasters, I also found PREP and organising your speech has the same underlying principle point supported by reason and example. And sound so simple, but if you notice in this speech or any other communication this is all that we do, we are either making a point, giving some reasons or giving some examples. But when we are not aware, we tend to disbalanbce these elements. In the past I have so many conversation where I could clearly feel something is wrong but I cant put my finger on it. Elvera, it was clear to me what went wrong. I was example was inline with the point I want to make. It help us identity gaps and blind spot in our communication and we can remedy them.

It helps us to make our communication crisp and lean. But when we understand the foundation we can start to play with it. It doesnt have to be just point reason example. Example, point, reason. Sometime a point doesn’t need a reason. Because it is clear on our concesses. For example killing other human being is wrong. I don’t need to give a reason. Then instead of telling a point I can tell a story and you can draw point. In of the TT Chetanya gave me the topic of career in scuba diving and I can told the story of how I became afraid of water. The point is once we understand the foundation if we wish, we can make our communication more interesting and entertaining by adding some element of theatre.
