Teamwork.

In the heart of teamwork lies the thoughtful disagreement. A conflict with maturity and willingness to solve the common goal.

The opposite of teamwork is politics and silos, personal pursuit to extend one’s territory, doing the least amount of work to get off the hook.

Common goal and maturity are two pillars on top of which teamwork stands. When we lack the maturity we often withdraw or attack when someone disagree with our argument. When there is no common goal everyone tries to expand their personal agenda or work as little as possible.

Our maturity allows us to be real and vulnerable in our conversation. that sets us up for real conversation instead of egotistical argumentation.

Everyone has a different point of view and different blind spots, that is why the conflict is the most powerful aspect of teamwork. Having everyone’s idea in the shared pool of meaning also creates the everyone’s buy-in.
