What is the one common trait between Steve jobs, narendra Modi and Buddha. They are all very Descisvie , intresting thing is they were not born that way. So what broiught this transformation.

3 years back I was in a strange phase of my life. on the surface I was blessed. good job, a good family, good friends, good relationship but I was feeling very confused and indecisive. If you notice confusion, indecisiveness, directionless, are the synonyms. I am sure most of you people feel this way, if you are not feeling I am sure you will get there. It’s normal almost every great leader went through this phase. Striking similarity between these 3 peoples they all went for travelling.

The main problem was I didn’t know what was the cause of it. As a result I was becoming more and more paralysed and indecisive and the worse thing Time was being passed and that was scaring me.

So in all that mental chaos I took a decision I am very pleased with now. I left job, dump everything in one backpack and traveled for an year. It was a hack of a year filled with fun and emotional roller coaster, the best thing about travel is it gets you out of your comfort zone and keeps you on the toes, I stayed with monks, mentored stundents, lived in hostels, did a theatre ( although I am not very theatrish guy ) so many different experiences. I met amazing people, from tenzin Palmo. A women who spent 12 years in a cave in the snow, to a charming girl who was exploring what she wants to do after her school education. And almost everything in between.

As much fun as traveling was, although I wasn’t aware but there was a fundamental shift was taking place inside me. Nothing esoteric but a gradual and organic growth. I was becoming more decisive and in control of my life. In the process I was learning so much about who am I, what my values are, what I care about, what kind of people I like to hang out with, what I am good at, this data start to become the foundation on which I was taking further decision, and this foundation is not the same as the shaky one I had before. The social proof. You know the standard script, prove your self, find the passion, find the love, play the game. There is an amazing quote in Bhagwat Gita. “Sreyansnodharmo vigunah, paradharmtva Anushiat Swadharme nidhanum sreay, paradharmo bhayawah”, which traslate as it is much better to follow your path even if it is full of errors than to follow someone’s else path with perfection.

To know the direction of your life, your path, or any possible of a good life. We need real data, our expericens, this data leads to clarity, this clarity grounds you, and gives you unshakable foundation on which you can take decisions with certainty,
