TeamWork #Retroaspect.

Amritesh came and talk to me about some movie and I try to talk about the group. Konark offered cake and talking about milk and egg. Himanshu talked to me about beetroot and I told her lin is Chinese. Shantu and Rajat came and judged the 5 dysfunction of team. Akshay I told to came back as a winner. Shantu talked about the pitfall of doing to do.

There is always these subject, arguments and debate. The substratum is perosnal understanding. You can also master the art of argumentation.

It is always about the subject or about you and I.

Teamwork.

In the heart of teamwork lies the thoughtful disagreement. A conflict with maturity and willingness to solve the common goal.

The opposite of teamwork is politics and silos, personal pursuit to extend one’s territory, doing the least amount of work to get off the hook.

Common goal and maturity are two pillars on top of which teamwork stands. When we lack the maturity we often withdraw or attack when someone disagree with our argument. When there is no common goal everyone tries to expand their personal agenda or work as little as possible.

Our maturity allows us to be real and vulnerable in our conversation. that sets us up for real conversation instead of egotistical argumentation.

Everyone has a different point of view and different blind spots, that is why the conflict is the most powerful aspect of teamwork. Having everyone’s idea in the shared pool of meaning also creates the...

TeamWork.

What is an ideal team play, building deep meaningful relationship, working together as a team and solving problem as a team. Collective intelligence is much better than singular intellegence. Collectively solving a common problem. sometime we have that intention sometime we don’t. Help in indivisual pursuits.

So the situation is such that I am in a team, different people have different inention and maturity level. Now what is the right action expectation and action. What are the possiblity and pitfall in this case. What is good and bad case scenarios.

On the metalevel everyone is on their own journey, they have their own beliefs, desires, shortcoming.. they might do it because they want some extra case, prove themself, or wanna solve some problem.

their could be very surface level connection, deep connection or no connection.

so the question is how to work optimally in a team, I am...

The Challenges.

One thing I am constantly facing and getting rid of this need to acceptance, and I am being provided the opportunity constantly, in the stand up, session I am taking.

Second challange I am facing is They are talking, talking and talking and in deep manner I am not interested in talking.

Then when I am speaking, I endup saying something which is not just meaningless but kind of counterproductive. now because of I said it being a butt of a joke.

Then what do I want from all this.

Team Graph

So currently I am working with fairly good team. Akshay is kind of a person who is in a way a nice person, He seems to play with the words and consistency some times, stand up on his view. Assertive in a way. But than he also gets agree, once I had a conflict of view and there was a slight tension. He is quite respectful, Sometime he also test and throw the ball to see how other person will handle it. hungry, humble, and people smart.

Konark is keeping a distance in a way, very self confident, working a lot, He seems to be assesing people sometime. He takes decision quickly and seems to me doesn’t want closeness. Humble, Hungry, People Smart.

Amritesh is having low self worth and in the hurry he is trying to prove himself often. He is good person from the heart and he does this intellectual conversation a lot and then tied you or I am, right with that conversation. Hungry, Humble...

The Ideal Candidate.

Techincally an Ideal candidate should be someone who can get the job done in all three aspect, you give him a problem and he solves it regardless of quality. The second level is someone who gets the job done with quality and cutting edge and finally someone who is proactive and excellent in communication.

Technical sufficiency, Level-0 - Even in the Namshi, the first aspect was the technical sufficiency to turn the requirement into the working code. Get it working. This is where tejindre was, and html guy, you give the project and they will get the job the done.

Technical sufficiency. Level-1 - They can make it work but also has some understanding of behind the scene to the point of clear understanding of the behind the scene.

Technical sufficiency. Level-2 - They are up to date with latest and greatest technology and their code is clean.

Refactoring.

How can I serve and help people here to get the best out of their time? What is the best outcome of it all.

As per their capacity, they must move towards upward level For that I need to know what are the core components and what are the upward levels. Make this graph clear with assessments matric.

This graph and assessment will come from your own experience, alumni experience. and just basic search.

Now you need to calculate the gap for each person. and where they need to push forward. your job is to maximize their learning.

Abou the review. Currently I am doing one to one and based on their code I am mostly giving the review to correct it. and inspire them. there are some people who need more frequent reviews. Again this is like interview If I am sure of outcome I can guide it in that direction if not there is a lot more wastage.

Know the outcome, judge and guide them in that...
