Indian wisdom tradition puts a lot of emphasis on the concept of swadharma. According to it we all have our nature, when we understand our nature and align our work with that, we feel at peace and satisfied. When we act against our nature and even if end up succeeding [ whatever that means ] we feel at unease and dissatisfied. It went ahead and assert that it is far better to fulfill your swadharam errorusluy than fulfill others swadharma with perfection. There are 4 fundamental swadharmas, guide, worrier, businessman, helper.
The guide is the person who is into knowledge and understanding. He care deeply about self understanding. Lao tzu or stepthen covey are the perfect example for this.
The worrries are into leadership and protecting what is right. Narendra Modi or martin Luther king are the perfect example of this.
The businessman are into serving other people needs. Jeff bosis...
Write a clear statement of what matters in health for you. It doesn’t have to the ultimate piece of perfection but knowing what is important will help you to remove unnecessary noise. And it will evolve as you grow
what matters in exercise.
what matters in diet.
Although having six pack abs and slim waist may boost your self image or give you social mileage but it doesn’t necessarily means optimal health. Infect bodybuilding was never designed for good health. But it is an sport. Because of the nature of the sport most of the body builder has broken bones and dislocated joints, clearly not the sign of excellent health.
When there is a discomfort in our body your attention will be pulled there. And energy will be dispated. Our bodies are phenomenal instruments and they don’t require a lot of maintainace. Even a little bit loving attention goes the long way.
Health is about vitality of your body, how comfortable you are in your body. Are you feeling tired or energetic all the time.
Fundamentally there are two compnonent, your diet and exercise.
Diet - the fundamental job of the food is to support the maintainance, growth of our bodies and...
When I became more aware of the fundamental blocks of my life, it became very clear that I am very good in certain areas and hopelessly poor in other. And attempts to escape by doing more of what I am already good at, not only not solve the problem in other areas but make that area also dissatisfied.
There is no way you can solve realtionship problem by working more hours .And there is no way your mind will shut up about it. Also this undersatanding gives us perfect opportunity to know where we need to work more.
In my case I noticed I my work and finances were in a good shape, I liked my work and was getting paid decently [8/10]. My realtionships was very poor, be it with a college, friend, family or stranger. I had no understanding of how to deal with other people, what I want and what I don’t. mostly I was trying to withdraw from all kind of social situation to avoid facing it...
Our mind is constantly spinning the thoughts after thoughts. These thoguths are being generated by all the knowledge and information we have collected from all the places. These information is like food for our mind and our understanding is our digestive power. There is a lot of leftover from our past that we couldn’t digest because our understanding wasn’t mature.
All these thoughts, hopes, worries and desires can be categorised in four fundamental categories. Having a clear understanding of what is important in each area is crucial to live a good and intentional life.
1. Self mastery - once we have some degree of understanding of what we really are and how our minds work. Some things becomes very clear. There are certain aspects of our mind that can never be satisfied no matter how we arrange object outside. And they are consistently generating a lot of dissatisfaction...
I once believed, only If I can find my passion and center my life around it, I would be happy and satisfied. I was always fascinated by computer programming, so I spent almost 5 years building my life around it, without ever asking what exactly is the passion, and how it can satisfy me? My work became that one thing. A place of refuge.
In way or another deeply we buy into this idea of one thing that will solve all our problem. One job, one person, one car, certain amount of money, we really believe if we can find that one thing and center our life around it. Maybe it is something that is causing you a lot of trouble in the moment. Or maybe it is something that will lead you to a lot of happiness. We get to live happily ever after.
It is because the nature of our mind is pointy. It can hold only one thing at a time, and we naively believe if we can hold that one thing we will be happy...
In our mind we have to act in every moment. Inaction is simply not a choice that we have. When we are not acting intentially, we start act by default.
Every mental action has a consequence or an effect. Cause and effect is the fundamental principle of nature and it works with methamatical accuracy.
When we are not clear about our priorities, we start to act by impulses. Anxiety, depression, insomnia are the effect of those actions.
Every action originates from knowledge. The knowledge is the subtle part of action. All the knowledge in one way or another is ignorance.
People tells me they have no direction or intentionality, and acting by default they are very happy. There actions are screaming something else. That is not happiness but denail.
I once spent a month in a village, in a hope of living a relaxation I was slipping into the depression.
So really either you can choose to...
*chapter -1 * the pain of a confused life.
2014, On surface everything looks good, I had a good job, good family, decent friends, relaxed life and a lot of tv shows in my computer.
In reality, I had no idea what I was doing, as my experince growing, my passion from my job was dripping really fast. Friend, family and relationship felt like a lot of work than a ride of joy, but than being alone felt even worse. And those tv shows in my computer, they seems to loose their color but start serving the purpose of keeping me busy.My strategy of a good life was to keep myself busy, all the time. And it wasn’t working.
Everywhere I turn my head around, everyone seems to propose a solution. Socialise more, watch game of thrones, buy our petrol - it’s enviorment friendly. Nobody seems to bother to give any diagnosis.
I wasn’t in a pit, abusing drugs, or depressed. But common sense inside me...
